Hello fellow dreamers!
Welcome back. As DreamBig's calender continues to fill up, we are continuing to teach ourselves to branch off into several different types of effective video. We were also once again interviewed by Mareesa Nicosia of the local Saratogian where we were asked to sum up our ideas and well...philosophy on how our services benefit business.
Having learned a thing or two about psychology, I know that based on the fact that the human brain employs 40% of the cortex to process video, humans are "wired" to scan the visual environment and are most attracted to visual stimulation. So use that to your advantage! Video is the most powerful medium to portray/sell anything. Whatever a company sells/services, there is no better way to communicate that message than through either video demonstration, instructional video, relationship building video, creative, funny, even just one person delivering a powerful, moving message. Even plain text can pull it off sometimes! I have seen it for myself (ex. The recent "you wanted to quit" smoking spot...and I don't even smoke! Very moving). Online video is now a huge asset to a marketing arsenal, and can be a great introduction before meeting face-to-face.
Also, with the direction the video industry is going, and with the apparent craze over viral video, we believe that you don’t need hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce a video and millions to buy the media to run your spot. Great ONLINE video can spread like a wildfire (via Youtube, Vimeo, Metacafe, Google, to name a few). With a simple Copy+Paste, embedding video on webpages and blogs is a breeze. Not to mention sites like Google's Adwords, you can now tell how many people found your video, watched it, and what WORDS they used to search for it. It seems that CLICKS (online) are the new RATINGS (tv)? Something to think about...
So, the bottom line. What are they looking for, and how do you grab their attention, and keep it? The answer: Visually.
Adam and I love being creative and are excited to put our abilities to work in producing all different kinds of videos for a huge variety of businesses, making each video better than the last.
Thanks for reading.

Farmony sings for all
Hey all,
DreamBig Media Group and Railbird's Sarah Pedinotti have joined up to bring you "Farmony". A documentary focusing on the need to continue to promote, enjoy and purchase from local farms. In Washington county alone this year, farmers are projected to loose over 20 million dollars and nothing is being done to prevent these farmers from losing their homes, livestock and most importanly their land that has been in their families for hundreds of years. DreamBig and Sarah will be working together to promote this harsh reality these farmers face year after year. We will continue to keep you updated at Farmony.blogspot.com with current information, video blogs and ways for you to help get involved. Check out the trailer!
thanks!

Talk to People
Being friendly is king. Plain and simple. I am just so impressed that in a generation that is consumed by social networking, texting, and mobility, nothing beats face to face conversation. Actually sparking up a conversation with someone you know nothing about at a random spot or event. For example, a few weeks back I was shooting some video up at the race track and on my way out as I gathered some exterior shots of this building, I noticed a man in a suit standing next to this tree. I set my stuff up, shook his hand and soon after we had began a conversation about what we both do for a living and how insanely humid it was that particular day. Turns out we both were involved in video/media and we exchanged phone numbers, emails and I was soon on my way back to the station. After about two weeks of the most ridiculous phone tag game ever played, I was finally able to finally meet this client and establish a strong relationship just after doing some minor video work and listening to what he had to say and how his business works. He treated me as if I had been an employee of his company by including me in his conversations and making me feel apart of this particular project. It was great.
On what was originally my day off, soon became a day of listening, learning, and an experience that will hopefully build into a strong business relationship in the near future for Dream Big Media.
Meet and greet people. Listen and learn from them.

What a month this has been! Everything that has happened to Adam and me recently has clearly been a calling to get to work in this new media service business, doing what we were born to do. We are discovering more and more businesses and organizations in the Capital District that want exposure via artistic video on the web. Something I noticed that is happening with DreamBig is that, for me anyways, I have always wanted to have a job where I help people. Even if it is just a part time gig, unpaid even. It turns out that a handful of our clients and potential clients are from organizations serving a good cause, whether it be promoting eco-friendly habits and products, non-profit transportation systems, or free summer lunch programs for the less fortunate. The way things are going, it appears something is finally cooking in my life as I am achieving the best of both my worlds: creative visuals and giving. Thanks for reading my first blog. Stay tuned.
